New video footage obtained by GREY2K USA has revealed the dirty little secret of the dog racing industry. In live lure training, small animals, commonly rabbits, are used to excite and enhance a chase instinct in young greyhounds. Typically, screaming animals are dangled before greyhounds, dragged in front of them on ropes, or simply set loose to be attacked. These fragile animals often suffer cruel and miserable deaths. At least forty-five greyhounds were documented killing dozens of jackrabbits over a two-day period in March 2020 in Keota, Oklahoma and similar activities were witnessed in Elgin, Texas in June 2020, Abilene, Kansas in July 2020, and Greeley, Colorado in June 2021.
