 The Greyhounds Need Wings!
Since the success of Massachusetts Question 3, GREY2K USA has been approached by lawmakers, grass roots activists and even governors across the country to come to their states and launch campaigns to end dog racing. In some cases, track owners themselves have been supportive of these efforts.
In the past two months alone, we have traveled to six states and the District of Columbia to lobby for greyhound protection bills. But travel costs are stretching our resources to the limit. Airfare alone averages $500 per trip, even with pre-planning and fare research.
As GREY2K USA’s campaigns to end dog racing take flight around the country, we must work on the ground in all racing states. That means the greyhounds need wings!
Your contribution will enable us to file bills, work directly with advocates and volunteers, meet with lawmakers, attend legislative sessions and participate in rallies and meetings in host states. With pending votes in states like Arizona, Kansas and New Hampshire and new racing injuries exposed in states like Iowa and West Virginia the greyhounds need your help more than ever!
