Dear Friends,
Last month, I had the honor of meeting in London with MP Neil Parish, Chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee that will decide the fate of greyhound racing in Great Britain. I discussed the findings from our joint report Greyhound Racing in Great Britain, a Mandate for Change and asked him to bring an end to self-regulation immediately.
Now, you can help too! Official Committee testimony has already been submitted by GREY2K USA Worldwide, Greyhound Compassion, the League Against Cruel Sports, Greyt Exploitations, the RSPCA as well as individuals within the industry. Now, the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (EFRA) Committee is asking for testimony from the public at large by December 31, 2015.

This is your chance to be heard! Please follow the link on the Committee consultation page and answer a 23-question survey. This should take approximately 10-20 minutes. You need not be an expert, just offer your common sense support for independent regulation, describing the need for full injury reporting, universal kennel standards, regular inspections and the tracking of greyhounds from birth to death. While the Committee has said it will not recommend a ban on dog racing, it is open to a moratorium on new tracks and the closing down of the nine unlicensed facilities.
The League Against Cruel Sports has published an excellent web page for you to consult, but please just let the Committee know your personal opinion about dog racing.
Together, we can give voice to the greyhounds. Please answer the EFRA Committee survey before December 31, 2015.
Happy Holidays!
