Dear Friends,
Tomorrow, please vote Yes on Question 3. This measure will prohibit several forms of gambling, including gambling on dog races via a process called "simulcasting."
Simulcasting allows Massachusetts gamblers to bet in our state on dog races that happen elsewhere. This form of gambling was outlawed by the Greyhound Protection Act ballot question in 2008, but politicians on Beacon Hill have allowed it to continue.
Greyhound simulcasting hurts dogs. Some of the worst dog tracks in the country rely on Massachusetts gamblers to stay open. At these low-end tracks, thousands of greyhounds endure lives of confinement and many dogs suffer injuries. In Florida, a racing greyhound dies every three days.
For more information, see our fact sheet. You can also visit the Yes on 3 website.
Finally, please forward this e-mail to everyone in Massachusetts who cares about dogs!
For the greyhounds,
