Overbreeding, doping and killing exposed in Australia

Dear Friends,

In response to mounting evidence of cruelty to greyhounds and widespread misconduct at dog tracks, an official Parliamentary Inquiry has finally been launched in New South Wales! Unlike the United States, there is no independent body overseeing the greyhound racing industry, so the dogs have had absolutely no voice. This is a rare chance for them to be heard.

Please watch the latest investigation by ABC's 7.30 Report, revealing the massive overbreeding of greyhounds, the widespread doping of dogs with illegal drugs, and the admitted killing of 3,000 ex-racers each year. Then, please join me in sending your comments to the Parliamentary Committee by November 6. At a minimum, an independent regulatory body must be created, mandatory adoption programs put in place, and a moratorium placed on any new dog tracks.

For an excellent summary and more ideas for writing your submission, please read a fact sheet by the Greens Party and then use this link to send in your comments today.

Finally, you can also help by adopting a greyhound. Watch this wonderful video about our friend Katrina Koutsellis and Friends of the Hound and please make a generous donation to her efforts to rescue needy dogs in New South Wales.

As the new Australian Director for GREY2K USA Worldwide, I will keep you informed on how to help end dog racing Down Under. Together, we can make a difference for greyhounds everywhere.Jeroen

Thank you for being part of our team!
