On 7 July, NSW Premier Mike Baird gave greyhounds the biggest hope to date for a better future. Together with Racing Minister Troy Grant, he announced that their Liberal-National government will prohibit greyhound racing in the state! This is the single most life-changing decision for all racing greyhounds in Australia and the ACT government has also just declared that it will follow NSW’s lead.

But the greyhounds need your urgent help to make this a reality. The measure still needs to pass both legislative houses and the vote may be very close. The dog racing industry has vowed to spend millions to save their cruel industry and, shockingly, Labor is also working to convince MPs to vote down the proposed prohibition.

The bill could be introduced in Parliament as early as Tuesday 2 August. We must ensure that both houses vote for ending dog racing. It is the only way to stop the relentless cycle of killing once and for all.

Please email your MP today to say that the community wants the cowardly killing of thousands of innocent dogs to end.
