Dear Friends,
On Tuesday, please join us for a Virtual Lobby Day at the capitol!
The fight for the greyhounds has really heated up in Tallahassee. Many of you attended humane lobby
day last week, but your voices are needed again to pass the greyhound bill.
HB 1145/ SB 1594 will decouple the cruelty of greyhound racing from other forms
of gambling, removing the legal requirement that dog tracks host live racing in order to be licensed. This historic legislation is endorsed by the Humane Society of the United
States, the ASPCA, Best Friends, In Defense of Animals and Florida's ARFF. If approved, it will
significantly reduce, and possibly end, greyhound racing in the Sunshine State.
As long as dog racing continues, greyhounds will suffer. These gentle dogs are kept confined in
warehouse-style kennels in cages so small they can barely stand up or turn around. When let out of their cages to race, they face the risk of serious injury. Dogs have even
been electrocuted while racing in Florida.

Please CALL your state lawmakers on Tuesday, April 12. Ask your State Representative to support/co-sponsor HB 1145 and ask your State Senator to support/co-sponsor its companion bill, SB 1594. Also, politely let each office know you would like to hear back with a specific response. (Please send any responses you receive to christine@grey2kusa.org)
To identify the state lawmakers who represent you, click here.
Then, use the forward button at the end of this e-mail to share this important message with everyone
you know in the state. If you are on facebook, use our poll to share with us and your friends that you've made the calls.
Finally, please make a designated donation to our Florida campaign. All gifts received will support this
historic effort.
These gentle friends are counting on all of us to act now. Please respond immediately.
