Time Is Running Out for Iowa Greyhounds. Your Calls & E-mails Are Urgently Needed!
Dear Friends:
With only days left until the end of the Iowa legislative session, calls and e-mails are still urgently needed to help end dog racing!
As you know, lawmakers are currently considering a proposal that would end greyhound racing, and provide the state with millions in additional revenue. This proposal has been given new urgency as lawmakers debate the final details of the state budget.
Also, last week the State Senator who first introduced dog racing in Iowa spoke out, and said that his amendment to legalize greyhound racing was a mistake.
Please take a moment today to call and e-mail your State Representative and State Senator. Tell them that it is time for the cruelty of dog racing to end, and that the state urgently needs additional revenue.
It is now or never for Iowa greyhounds. They cannot speak for themselves, and are counting on us to be their voice.
