Iowa Greyhounds Need Your Help!
Friends:
Great news! Last week, a bill to end dog racing in Iowa (House File 2493) won a major victory when it was approved by a key legislative committee.
Your help is still needed to ensure this humane proposal moves forward. If you haven’t done so already, please contact your state lawmakers and ask them to support HF 2493.
Also, please call or e-mail Governor Chet Culver right away and ask him to support it as well. Specifically, tell him how important this issue is to you. You can send him an electronic message through his website, or contact him at:
The Hon. Chet Culver
Office of the Governor & Lt. Governor
State Capitol
1007 East Grand Ave.
Des Moines, Iowa 50319
Phone: 515.281.5211
When writing your e-mail, feel free to use our HF 2493 Fact Sheet as a reference tool.
Finally, please also send a letter to the editor to your local newspaper in support of HF 2493. To find your local newspaper, click here.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to help Iowa greyhounds, and they are counting on all of us to act now!
