As I write this to you, we are commemorating our 18th year of fighting for the greyhounds! That’s right, Carey Theil and I formed GREY2K USA on February 7, 2001 and since that time you have helped us #CloseTheCanidrome in Macau and end dog racing at 30 dog tracks in 13 US states. November’s vote to phase out dog racing at eleven more tracks in Florida signals the beginning of the end of this cruel industry in the United States. Teamwork was the key to these victories, and we now look forward to intensifying our global campaigning.
This year, we invite you to celebrate greyhound freedom in two ways.

We'd also like to invite you to enter our 2019 Greyhound Smiles Contest. Just submit one or more photos of your favorite smiling greyhound via our website by Wednesday, February 13th. The winner will be announced on Valentine’s Day and she or he will receive a beautiful greyhound statue. This contest is free to enter, but please limit two photos per person.
