Sweet Sixteen for GREY2K USA Worldwide

Dear Friends,

As I write this to you, we are commemorating our 16th year of fighting for the greyhounds! That’s right, Carey Theil and I formed GREY2K USA on February 7, 2001 and since that time you have helped us close down 30 dog tracks in 13 states plus the US Territory of Guam. We have now joined hands with greyhound allies around the world and launched a global movement for the dogs!

Here in the US, legislative sessions are now opening all across the country. There are just six states left with operational dog tracks – so our efforts are more focused than ever. Over the last sixteen years, we have ignited an organized campaign that is hitting the racing industry right where it counts – in the courts, in the legislature and at the ballot box. As US tracks continue to close, greyhound breeding has been reduced by two-thirds, sparing the suffering of thousands of dogs.

Our work together is saving lives.

My promise to you is that we will keep working to save greyhounds. We will lobby to ban dog racing and promote the adoption of ex-racers until the wonderful day when greyhound racing comes to its much-desired end.

For the greyhounds,
