E-mails Needed for Iowa Greyhounds

Dear Friends,
Iowa greyhounds need your help!

At two racetracks in the Hawkeye State, hundreds of greyhounds endure lives of confinement and suffer serious injuries. Even though these tracks are losing money on dog racing, races are still taking place because of an antiquated state mandate. Even worse, under this bad law greyhound breeders are being given millions in state subsidies every year.

It's time for this antiquated law to change.

Please send a personal e-mail today to Iowa State Senator Jeff Danielson, Chair of the Senate State Government Committee, at:

Politely ask that his committee introduce a greyhound decoupling bill as soon as possible. This measure would allow dog racing to end, and return millions in subsidy dollars to state programs.

Just a few weeks ago we reported on the fate of DS Cyclone, a greyhound who was neglected in Iowa and died late last year. Sadly, she died only a few weeks after her third birthday. Although we can't help Cyclone, we can remember her by sending an e-mail today to Chair Danielson.

Please send your personal e-mail to right away. If you have a rescued greyhound, tell Senator Danielson about your adopted friend and send him a photograph of him or her.

Together, let's give Iowa's greyhounds the voice they deserve.
