Summary:

Instead of one state racing commission, each track is regulated by its own county commission. The Mobile County Racing Commission and the Birmingham Racing Commission have their own set of racing rules. In 2012, a total of $17,741,756.20 was wagered on live greyhound races in the state.3 By 2013, the amount wagered on races at the Birmingham Race Course had declined by 19.85%, down to $7,795,631.4 Data from the Mobile track for 2013 is not yet available.
